Workshop: Review maize trials
AREA researchers led a workshop on March 28, 2019 for researchers and agricultural professionals to review the on-station and on-farm maize trials scheduled for the spring 2019. Seven participants attended from six AREA partner organizations: the MARNDR, FAMV, Bas Boën CRDD, Organization for Rehabilitation of the Environment (ORE), CHIBAS (a research lab associated with Quisqueya University's College of Agriculture) and the American University of the Caribbean (AUC).
Representatives of these organizations attended the SOP training held in Year 3 in Illinois. The group also reviewed the trial data collection tools and procedures. Seeds of the maize varieties were distributed to the partners according to the number of trials they would establish.
