The Feed the Future Haiti AREA (or Support for Agricultural Research and Development) project is pleased to invite submissions for abstracts for consideration for oral presentations at the International Conference on Agricultural and Innovation in Haiti 2020. The conference will be held March 10-11 at the Karibe Convention Center in Pétionville, Haiti.

In addition to being presented at the conference, accepted abstracts will be printed in the program. 

Deadline: The deadline to submit abstracts is Feb. 7, 2020. 

Priority program topics

The AREA project has implemented research and extension programs that are aligned with the priority of the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR). The conference will primarily address research in these priority areas:

  1. Agroclimate research
  2. Higher education research and development
  3. Plant pathology and entomology
  4. Agricultural extension and gender
  5. Soil fertility and agronomy
  6. Crop improvement including beans, sorghum and maize
  7. Postharvest technology and food safety with emphasis on research aimed to reduce aflatoxin in foods

The submitters are limited to research conducted in these areas. 

Presentation types and selection

Due to program constraints, a limited number of oral presentations will be accepted. Selection will be based on the following criteria: the alignment of the research with the priorities and the overall scientific merit of the research.
