Virtual Conference on Entrepreneurship and Leadership for Women
In July 2020, AREA held a four-day virtual conference aimed specifically at female agronomy students from partner universities in Haiti. The goal was to strengthen the capacities of women in the agricultural sector and inspire them to get involved in the Haitian agricultural as entrepreneurs upon graduating.
The trainings were held July 3, 7, 8 and 16, 2020 on the Zoom platform. The online meetings were recorded in French and are linked below.
- July 3: Importance of Failure in Leadership, presented by Berthrude Albert, Ph.D., founder of PH4 Global
- July 7: Resources for Haiti startups, Christelle Calixte, AREA gender extension specialist, and Anne Gilot, AREA monitoring evaluation specialist
- July 8: Financial stability in your micro-enterprise, Reginald Cean, program specialist at Haiti Development Institute
- July 16: Case study of a real woman entrepreneur, Mikerlange Dorvil, owner of Chokokap, which specializes in producing natural chocolate
